Pete’s Gear
Guitars:
Reverend PA1 Pete Anderson Signature. The Reverend PA1 was designed by Pete and Joe Naylor of Reverend Guitars. He went through about 4 prototypes to get it right.
For pickups he’s using a set of custom wound P90’s from the Seymour Duncan Custom Shop. Seymour and MJ have been making pickups for Pete for years now. The un-official name for the current pickup is the “Pete 90”. They’ve also made an awesome sounding PAF for him as well – “The PeteBucker”.
Strings & Things:
Pete has been using D’Addario’s exclusively for over 25 years.
For his signature PA1 (which is tuned down to “D”, the gauges are 11.5,.15,.18,.32, .44, .54.
Tele style guitars in the “D” tuning -it’s a 10-52 set.
Tele style guitars in standard tuning he’s using the following gauges:
9.5, 11.5, .16, .28, .39, .49.
For his for his 335 and Les Paul R9 it’s a 10-52 set in standard tuning.
And for Slide guitars he’s using the D’Addario Chromes Medium set. He discovered that many of the old Blues guys used flat wounds for slide playing and he’s applied that to his guitars as well.
Cables are from Planet Waves and guitar picks are Jim Dunlop 1mm Nylon picks. For slides, he’s been using his signature Rock Slide.
